Sunday July 26, 2026 we bring back a recent cinematic-musical gem during Newport Folk Fest that captures the unparalleled majesty of  John Prine. This screening features a special performance by New England musician Beth Barron, who will be performing her own captivating renditions of some of John Prine's most beloved songs on stage before the film!

You Got Gold: A Celebration of John Prine captures a star-studded tribute to the legendary songwriter, filmed in October 2022 at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. The event brought together acclaimed artists, friends, and family to share behind-the-scenes stories and perform classic songs, honoring Prine's enduring legacy. Prine, widely celebrated as one of history's greatest songwriters, captivated millions of fans and earned the admiration of icons such as Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Tyler Childers, Lucinda Williams, Dwight Yoakam, Jason Isbell, and Bob Weir, amongst many others, are featured in the film performing on the Ryman stage for this special celebration of his life and music.

About Beth Barron: An East Bay Singer/Songwriter, Beth Barron, a 2025 motif award winner for best singer songwriter of Rhode Island. A bluesy, sultry songstress who delivers her originals with passion and honesty. A folk musician who implements a raw and original style with an Appalachian and gospel twist to her music. Covers include , bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Leonard cohen, and more. She has performed at The Narrows in Fall River, MA opening for the amazing artists Jon - Pousette Dart and Tom Rush. Her other projects include , the Beth Barron string band and she is a performer and committee of Rhode Island folk fest, providence porch fest and ladies of folk of Rhode island.
