"They're eating her! And then they're going to eat me! Ohhh my Godddddd!" The best worst horror movie ever made creeps into the JPT for one night w/ live music pre-film!
Experience a movie so unbelievably bad that it's deliciously fun to watch: Troll 2. Troll 2 is technically a horror movie (it's hilariously hokey) like it's technically a sequel- originally produced as 'Goblins' the studio changed the name to Troll 2 to capitalize on the success of 1986's Troll, despite the films being completely unrelated. With such auspicious beginnings Troll 2 bombed in every way, boasting a 5% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes with the consensus reading only "oh my God."
Similar to famed bad film The Room, the producers now insist Troll 2 was always meant to be comedic. To quote Marsha Brady, "Sure, Jan". Don't get it twisted, the 'trolls' do violently eat people but abject failure of the filmmakers' earnest effort to scare is so striking that Troll 2 has become a true cult classic making for a memorably awesome cinematic experience on the late-night circuit. Featuring live pop-rock music before the movie by popular saxophonist/musician (& Troll 2 fan) Chase Ceglie and his band, you can't help but have fun as these so-called-trolls do their dastardly troll deeds.
When young Joshua (Michael Stephenson) learns that he will be going on vacation with his family to a small town called Nilbog, he protests adamantly. He is warned by the spirit of his deceased grandfather that goblins populate the town. His parents, Michael (George Hardy) and Diana (Margo Prey), dismiss his apprehensions, but soon learn to appreciate their son's warnings. Guided by his grandfather's ghost, will Joshua and his family stand a chance in fighting off these evil beings?
