OCTOBER 31
Is there anything more iconic than the musical "ch ch ch ah ah ah" as vengeance stalks horny, pot-smoking teen camp councilors at Camp Crystal Lake? Howbout Michael Myers hunting down horny, pot smoking teenagers in the burbs of Haddonfield, Illinois? We're hosting a Slasher Film Double Feature of 1978's Halloween & 1980's Friday the 13th- two movies that influenced generations of imitators- to have you decide!
Crystal Lake's history of murder doesn't deter counselors from setting up a summer camp in the woodsy area. Superstitious locals warn against it, but the fresh-faced young people -- Jack (Kevin Bacon), Alice (Adrienne King), Bill (Harry Crosby), Marcie (Jeannine Taylor) and Ned (Mark Nelson) -- pay little heed to the old-timers. Then they find themselves stalked by a brutal killer. As they're slashed, shot and stabbed, the counselors struggle to stay alive against a merciless opponent.
It's Slasher vs. Slasher, young & beautiful Jamie Lee Curtis vs. young & beautiful Kevin Bacon, Michael Myers vs Jason Vorhees (well... sort of)- at least vaguely supernatural enforcer of teen purity vs. moralistic force of vengeance? Whatever. It's one hell of a fun double-feature!
Sponsored by Newport Cannabis Company who will be in the lobby with awesome Halloween giveaways that will make you feel like one of those fun-loving teens again!
John Carpenter's Halloween screens at 6:00, followed by Friday the 13th @ 8:30. $25 Tickets for Double Feature, $15 GA, $13 Member tickets for individual films.
Kevin Bacon, Adrienne King, Harry Crosby, Jeannine Taylor, Mark Nelson, and Betsy Palmer
