JULY 29
Newport, RI – On Wednesday, July 29th Newport’s own Chase Ceglie will bring his theatrical musical world to the Jane Pickens Theater for the release of his highly-anticipated new album, My Saxophone Cried. Chase’s music blends art-pop, jazz and folk with poignancy and humor as his infectious vocal melodies and soulful, searching saxophone weave beautifully with his eclectic mix of talented backing musicians. You can expect to experience a lush tapestry of sound that pulls you in and breaks your heart!
Presented by A1 Roofing and Construction in partnership with New England Music Organization (NEMO), the evening will feature Chase Ceglie pulling double-duty by opening with Pets, his dreamy and hypnotic Brooklyn-based sophisti-pop side project with the Campolo brothers, before headlining the night with his backing band. The bill also includes Rhode Island’s own, Tallahassee, the stripped back, solo indie project from Luca Antonio. Throughout the evening, Chase will bring out friends and collaborators from all over the country to perform songs from his brand new album, along with favorites from his previous albums; Onion, Fear and Love, Together…!, and Chaseland.
Chase Ceglie is known locally as a saxophonist, songwriter, and educator who helps foster original music in the Newport community. Chase has become a fixture in the Newport music community while building a devoted international following for his original pop music over the last decade. Since beginning this body of original work during his time at Berklee College of Music, Chase has developed it as a DIY recording project, writing, producing, and performing most of the instruments
himself. His debut at the Jane Pickens Theater is a rare chance to experience this music live on stage. To learn more about Chase, his music and his upcoming shows visit www.chaseceglie.com
