The Jane Pickens Theater & Event Center (The JPT) will become an out-of-this-world theater as George Lucas’s blockbuster original Star Wars trilogy returns to theaters this Sunday.
For many, this is the first time they’ve seen the films in theaters since their release in the 1970s and 1980s. Journey across the galaxy with Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance in the enhanced version of the classic trilogy, as they battle the powerful Galactic Empire and face Darth Vader in the ultimate showdown.
“We invite you to feel the force with friends, family, or as a true rogue Jedi and witness the original (and best) Star Wars trilogy that started an empire on the big screen!” says Alex Whitney, General Manager of The JPT.
All three movies from the original trilogy will be shown back-to-back on Sunday, May 4, for an afternoon brimming with adventure:
A New Hope (1977) at 1:30 p.m.
The Empire Strikes Back (1980) at 4:30 p.m.
The Return of the Jedi (1983) at 7:30 p.m.
Come for one, and stay for all three flicks for the optimum viewing experience. Whether it’s your first time seeing young Mark Hamil, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher on the big screen or reliving the cinematic experience with younger generations, the classic Star Wars saga is presented in newly enhanced editions, featuring updated visual effects, refined audio, and small story adjustments that refresh George Lucas’s original vision for modern audiences.
Coming soon: The Stanley Kubrick Master of the Medium series continues with the 50th anniversary of Barry Lyndon (1975) on May 1, 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) on May 14, and A Clockwork Orange (1971) on June 4 in dazzling 4K restoration.
In between, see how Marcella Hazan shaped at-home Italian cooking in her new self-titled documentary Marcella (2025), featuring prominent culinary figures Jacques Pépin and Danny Meyer from May 8-13, or The Ballad of Wallis Island (2025) as an eccentric lottery winner corrales his favorite musicians to play his dream gig on his home island from May 16-21.
