The JPT Virtual Screening Room

Our first film offering will be one of our best films of the year. If we can't put it on the big screen in our beautiful historic space, you can support us during this time by letting us entertain you at home.

Fantastic Fungi Day is happening in the virtual world on March 26th with the film available with video-on-demand through the JPT from March 26 to April 2nd. We have hosted 4 sold out screenings of this film in our theater (that's over 400 people gathering together every time we show it). We were about to enjoy our 5th screening on March 26th when the world changed.

Instead with the current challenges we face, we have found a way to bring one of our best films to you virtually. The JPT & Aquidneck Community Table will both benefit. So put it on your calendar to go to another room in your house for a screening. We know you'll return to us when we can all gather again. But in the meantime we hope to stay connected.

Quote from Fantastic Fungi:
As we enter into an even vaster understanding of just how interdependent we are and how fast something travels between us all, we can appreciate the power of our interconnectedness.
PLUS your ticket will support a live internet chat with Paul Stamets and Director Louie Schwartzberg!

Watch the film anytime March 26th to April 2nd
and virtually attend the
Live Q & A on March 26th

Narrated by Academy Award-Winner Brie Larson, Fantastic Fungi takes us on an immersive journey into the magical earth beneath our feet: an underground network with the potential to heal and save our planet. Through the eyes of renowned scientists and mycologists like Paul Stamets, best-selling authors Michael Pollan, Eugenia Bone, Andrew Weil and others, we become aware of the beauty, intelligence and solutions the fungi kingdom offers us in response to some of our most pressing medical, therapeutic, and environmental challenges.

The film is a visual spectacle and will inspire a shift in consciousness and a renewed love of nature

Imagine an organism that feeds you, heals you, reveals secrets of the universe and could help save the planet. Fantastic Fungi is a revelatory time-lapse journey, from 2019 Maui Film Festival Visionary Award honoree and director Louie Schwartzberg, about the magical, mysterious and medicinal world of fungi and their power to heal, sustain and contribute to the eurogenesis and treating end-of-life anxiety. And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

About Aquidneck Community Table: The mission  is to grow a healthy local food system, accessible to all on our island.
Aquidneck Community Table (ACT) works in many different ways to build a  local food system: fresh foods at our farmers markets, community gardens, and school gardens; programs that inspire young people to love healthy foods; an annual food challenge to eat locally; and a food-scrap collection program to divert food from the waste stream.
