CLEAN OCEAN ACCESS PRESENTS WASTED! THE STORY OF FOOD WASTE

APRIL 1

Clean Ocean Access is excited to present a film screening of "Wasted! The Story of Food Waste" at Jane Pickens Theater & Event Center on Monday, April 1st. It may be April Fools, but food waste is no joke!

An informative and entertaining documentary produced by celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, "Wasted!" takes audiences around the world, showing the 1.3 billion tons of food that gets thrown out each year and the people fighting hardest to prevent it. In Rhode Island alone, about 100,000 tons of food waste ends up in the Central Landfill, which is expected to reach capacity by 2034. Still no joke!

Buy tickets are $4 at Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/wasted-film-screening-with-clean-ocean-access-tickets-55295113172

To address the issue of food waste and marine debris in our Ocean State, Clean Ocean Access has launched a new composting project, Healthy Soils, Healthy Seas Rhode Island (HSHSRI), that seeks to improve ocean health by inspiring environmentally responsible behavior on land. In partnership with local composting groups, The Compost Plant, Aquidneck Community Table and Rhodeside Revival, HSHSRI hopes to inspire residents to take a closer look at their waste footprints and reevaluate the low-and-no-value items that end up in the landfill, or worse in our ocean.

HSHSRI members receive a $5 discount on 1 movie ticket! Just enter your unique 5-digit customer number as the promotional code upon check-out. If you have any trouble accessing your discount please email info@cleanoceanaccess.org.Join us for a fascinating film about the truth behind food waste, beginning with a pre-screening update from the HSHSRI project team, including Aquidneck Community Table, Rhodeside Revival, The Compost Plant and Clean Ocean Access.
