A night to enjoy a the original classic pirate film Captain Blood with music before the film by Little Compton Band and the chance to help choose the official cocktail of this year’s Tommy Tewsday Pirate Invasion.
About the film:
In England in the 1600s, Dr. Peter Blood (Errol Flynn) treats the wounds of a man who had been injured in a rebellion against King James II, for which he is convicted of treason and sold into slavery in the Caribbean colony of Port Royal, Jamaica. Despite the kindnesses of his new owner, Arabella Bishop (Olivia de Havilland), Blood and his fellow slaves escape to begin a life of high-seas piracy. But when Captain Blood crosses paths with Arabella again years later, he remembers her compassion.
Little Compton Band will perform before the film.
About the band:
The Little Compton Band embodies a new age of roots rock. Camaraderie around small town living, improvised musical journeys, and a commitment to craft has forged this powerful group. On a seaside farm in southern Rhode Island, the five friends began making music at a young age. Through the years, the LCB has developed a sound that is remarkably classic in nature. A common infatuation with the musical languages of soul, jazz, country western, and blues, coupled with their spiritual connection to the rural north, created a unique sound that transcends the status quo.
